GIFT FROM THE IDE's
Herb and Mildred Ide have left a gift from their estate to Valley Lutheran Middle and High School. They have been
long time supporters of the school from its conception. The gift totals a little over one million dollars will do so
much for the ministry at Valley Lutheran. We praise God for the support of loving people like the Ides and will use
the money to help grow the ministry in their honor. For more details see the article in the Courier on Friday, January
15th.

Speech Team
Valley Lutheran High School now has its own official speech team. Many of our high school guys and girls are practicing
in small groups and will compete against other schools in our class size. Vanessa Ebling our English teacher is the
coach for the team and has been working with these students before and after school as they prepare for the competition at
the end of the month. Valley Lutheran is hosting a "Variety Show" on Friday, February 12th to show case these
students' talents. The admission is $3 and will start at 7pm.

Come see the gym
So much work has been done on the gym this past month that you may not recognize it. Please come by the school
and see the beautiful site of the gym and all that has been accomplished. Both backboards and goals are up at each end
of the gym, the floor is in place and glued down, and a mesh wall has been assembled around the entire boundary of the gym.
The students and faculty will benefit greatly from this new addition to the school. We thank Iowa Specialty for the
work they did on this project.
